School Insurance
At the 2021 Educate Together AGM a motion was passed which “calls upon member schools to join a group scheme so as to ensure schools are in a stronger position when it comes to dealing with insurance providers.” Educate Together has an agreement in place with Brady Insurance aimed at reducing insurance costs for schools.
Joining the scheme is optional for schools, and 67 schools are currently insured with Brady Insurance (50 primary and 17 post-primary), which is 57% of all our schools. If we can reach a point where 80% of schools have opted into the scheme, this would allow Brady Insurance to approach other insurance companies (Ecclesiastical and Irish Public Bodies, for example) to secure a better deal (which would include reduced cost, support from the insurer, expertise in the sector, etc.)
