Today, Educate Together operates a national network of 118 schools in Ireland – 97 primary and 21 second-level, catering to over 40,000 students.
Demand continues to grow for Educate Together’s model of education and the school network has grown substantially in recent years. There are currently two main ways new Educate Together schools can open:
- the Government may decide to open new schools in response to population growth. Educate Together and local parent-led campaign groups will assess the demand may launch #VoteEducateTogether campaign for patronage. If you are interested in being part of a parent-led campaign group, contact newschools@educatetogether.ie.
- an existing school might consider changing patronage to Educate Together. If school communities are interested in transferring patronage to Educate Together, this web page has further information.

New schools
The Department of Education has announced that new schools may soon open in the following areas:
- Bray / Woodbrook / Shanganagh, Wicklow – primary
- Clondalkin / Dublin 22 – primary
- Gurranabraher / Cork city – primary
- Dublin 13 – primary
- Naas, Kildare – primary
- Cherrywood / Dublin 18 – second-level
- Dublin 13 – second-level
Educate Together will assess the demand in each of these areas and may launch a #VoteEducateTogether campaign for patronage.
