Schools and communities across Ireland came together on Friday 23 October to celebrate One Day Together 2026, Educate Together’s annual national celebration and fundraising day.
From dress-up days and discos to classroom activities, read-aloud events and community celebrations, schools marked the day in their own way — celebrating what it means to be part of the wider equality-based school movement.
Fundraising also formed an important part of the day. So far, online donations and school fundraising have raised €2,693, including 56 donations through the One Day Together GoFundMe. And there’s still more to come, with schools continuing to send in funds raised through One Day Together.
Funds raised through One Day Together help Educate Together to strengthen and support existing schools. They also help us advocate for important reforms to our education system, amplify parents’ voices, and create more opportunities for children and families to access equality-based education.
Dublin City Hall lights up purple
One of the highlights of One Day Together 2026 was seeing Dublin City Hall illuminated purple in support of the campaign.

Purple is one of Educate Together’s brand colours. On One Day Together, it became a visible symbol of connection across the network, celebrating the thousands of pupils, staff, families, volunteers and supporters who make up the Educate Together movement.
We were delighted to be joined at City Hall by Emer Nowlan (CEO), Julia Bauer (Fundraising Manager), Kylie Kinsella (Communications Officer), and students from Harold’s Cross Educate Together National School to mark the occasion.
We are also very grateful to Councillor Fiona Connelly, whose support helped make the City Hall illumination possible.
Thank you to our school communities and supporters
One Day Together would not be possible without the enthusiasm of schools, pupils, staff, families and supporters across the country.
Thank you to every school that organised an activity, every family that got involved, everyone who donated or shared the campaign, and everyone who helped spread the word.
We have loved seeing photos and stories from schools across the network. It has been wonderful to hear about the many ways communities chose to celebrate.
As further fundraising and participation updates come in, we look forward to sharing the final results from One Day Together 2026.
One Community. One Movement. One Day Together.
