Changes to School Support 

You may have noticed some changes to the way we’re operating support for schools. Any email sent to the school support email address generates an automatic reply, explaining that school support queries are monitored daily, and are dealt with on a prioritised basis, depending on the urgency of the query. We also undertake to provide a response within five working days. 

In order to make sure we can meet this commitment, five members of staff currently share the email address:

  • Emily MacKinlay 
  • Fionnuala Ward 
  • Jennifer Buttner 

Between us, we make sure that the account is monitored daily, and replies sent out within five working days. We also send out any announcements from the DES in relation to Covid-19, and use our Moodle Learning site to provide updates from the DES and other relevant agencies.   

Phone calls in relation to school support are also shared among the five of us, depending on who is on duty on a particular day.   

We have internal procedures to ensure that information is shared between us, always aware of the confidential nature of the work we do.  

Our aim is to ensure that all queries get a quick response and to ensure that the absence of one person doesn’t mean a loss of service.
