Brave Spaces in Educate Together Primary and Second-Level Schools

Interested in learning more about fostering brave spaces in your classroom this summer? Educate Together has a free online course that will develop your knowledge and understanding of the factors that influence our school environments.

This course explores topics such as bias and classroom culture and shares practical strategies for recognising microaggressions and making personal connections with pupils to establish a truly child-centered learning environment. This course will also outline the links between culturally and socially responsive pedagogies and the Educate Together Charter.

Opportunities for improving whole-school and classroom practices will also be explored, with the opportunity to hear from other school leaders and teachers on how they have developed brave spaces in their schools.

As the poet Maya Angelou says ‘”do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better.” Use this summer as an opportunity to learn more, know more and do more to support all pupils in our schools to grow, learn and live together.
