Student Advisory Group

Lead the Way: Join the Ethical Education Student Advisory Group!

At Educate Together, we don’t just place students at the core of what we do — we create opportunities for them to lead, shape, and inspire.

In preparation for the annual Educate Together Ethical Education & Global Citizenship Education (GCE) Student Event, we’re inviting senior cycle students to step up, get involved, and shape something extraordinary.

This is your chance to:

  • Lead
  • Learn
  • Make an impact

Each year, the event is co-hosted by two Educate Together schools – one in Dublin and in the West of the country. The Student Advisory Group meets monthly from October to March (with two extra support meetings as the event approaches).

We’re inviting senior cycle students who are:

  • Passionate about Ethical Education and Global Citizenship Education (GCE)
  • Excited to explore issues around sustainability, equality, justice and global responsibility
  • Ready to represent their school and collaborate with peers across the network

As a member of the Student Advisory Group, you’ll:

  • Work remotely with other student leaders from across the network to plan, lead, and shape the national student event
  • Take charge of areas such as:
    • Communications
    • Workshops
    • A GCE Fair
    • Social media takeovers

You won’t just take part; you’ll be co-creating and leading the way.

  • Develop leadership and teamwork skills
  • Gain real-world experience in event planning and organisation
  • Collaborate with students and NGOs working on global challenges
  • Build confidence, creativity, and communication skills
  • Make lasting friendships and be part of something meaningful

We’re inviting schools across the Educate Together network to nominate 1–2 senior cycle students to represent their school.

“Last year, I was part of the student advisory group that helped organise the Ethical Education conference called the Green Gathering. Being part of the group was an eye-opening experience for me. I got an insight into how interschool events are organised, what goes into them, and what makes a successful event. The event itself was incredible too. I was able to enjoy the conference with a sense of pride that I was one of the people that helped organise it. The people that were part of the group are some of the kindest, and wisest people I have ever met and I’m glad I met them. Overall, I loved working in the group and the conference was a very fun event to attend.”
