In May 2011, the Minister for Education and Skills announced the formal recognition of Educate Together as a second-level patron, saying:
“I can now confirm the Government’s view that Educate Together meets all the requirements to operate as a patron of a second-level school.”
This announcement opens the way for us to make Educate Together second-level schools a reality.

January Second-level National Forum A Great Success!
Educate Together’s January Second-level National Forum was a great success. There was plenty of lively discussion about our plans to open our first Educate Together second-level schools.
Second-level Newsletter December 2011
The latest issue of the Second-level Newsletter is now available. This issue has updates on public meetings, information on January’s second-level National Forum, and a clarification from the Department of Education and Skills on patronage models.
Educate Together Launch Prospectus for State-of-the-Art School in Lusk
Educate Together launched its prospectus for Lusk’s new second-level school at Rush & Lusk Educate Together National School recently. Local parents and community representatives were in attendance.
Welcoming the Junior Cycle Reform Proposals
Educate Together welcomes the Minister’s backing of NCCA junior cycle reform proposals. Educate Together has been calling for reform at second-level for many years and the news that there will be radical changes in the way junior cycle students are taught is very positive indeed.
