Educate Together Announces Primary School
in Fermoy, Co. Cork

Educate Together is delighted to announce that it has been sanctioned by the Department of Education and Skills to open a primary school in Fermoy, Co. Cork this September.

Fermoy ETNS will open in temporary accommodation in Fermoy Youth Centre in September 2018. In 2019, the school will move to its permanent location in the former Gaelscoil premises where it will operate on a shared facilities arrangement with Cork Education and Training Board.

The school will open as part of the ‘divestment’ process, a Government programme which began in 2011 to create more diversity and inclusiveness in the primary school system.

Says Kate Fielder, local parent:

“Educate Together has a great reputation in Cork and I couldn’t be more delighted with this news. Fermoy is a thriving town and it’s fantastic that families here are getting a choice in their children’s education at long last. I’m really looking forward to seeing the Fermoy ETNS school community flourish and grow. Exciting times ahead!”

Enrolment is now open for Junior Infants starting school in 2018 and the enrolment form can be accessed here.
