The Department of Education and Science is planning for the establishment of new schools to commence operation in September 2010 to meet the increasing demand for pupil places.

Educate Together have a start-up group in Athlone, working towards the establishment of an Educate Together National School school in the town. Enrollment for this school is now open, following a very successful launch on Saturday November 8th 2008.

Enniscorthy Start-Up Group
Educate Together are working towards the establishment of an Educate Together National School in Enniscorthy. A public meeting was held on Thursday 28th January 2010.

Holywell Swords Start-Up Group
The Minister for Education and Science has sanctioned the opening of a new primary school in Swords from September 2010. Educate Together is in preliminary discussions with the Department of Education and Science regarding accommodation provision.
The enrolment list is open and forms are available from Educate Together on 01 4292500 or from Holywell Residents Association. You may also download pre-enrolment forms here.
Places on the list can be checked by emailing Gerry McKevitt at gerry.mckevitt@educatetogether.ie.
Gerry is meeting the residents committee early next week to decide on a date to meet with all parents on the enrolment list (possible date: Wednesday March 10th 2010).
We will be contacting parents on the list as soon as possible with an update, date and location of the meeting.

Portlaoise Start-Up Group
The Minister for Education and Science has sanctioned the opening of a new primary school in Portlaoise from September 2010. Educate Together is in preliminary discussions with the Department of Education and Science regarding accommodation provision.
A public meeting will be held on Thursday 11th March 2010 at 8pm in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise.
We will be taking pre-enrolments from interested parties on a first come, first served basis at the public meeting.

Portobello Start-Up Group
Due to the large demand for additional multi-denominational school places in the Dublin 8 and Dublin 6 areas, Educate Together is working with the Portobello Multi-Denominational School Start-Up Group to establish a new school in the area.
There was an exceptionally large turnout at their meeting on 19th January 2010, when parents outlined their difficulty in accessing multi-denominational schools in the area.

Tallaght Start-Up Group
Due to the high level of demand in the Tallaght area, we are currently assessing the possibility of opening schools in the Tallaght and/or Saggart areas.
The Tallaght Area Educate Together Association is currently working with Educate Together to assess where there is most demand. Should you wish to express your support for the right or parents to a school which more adequately reflects the increasingly diverse character of the Tallaght area, please sign the online petition, which is available here.
